Tell us about the creative track record of your organization, yourself, your project lead, your project partners, your collaborators, etc. (e.g. work you have already done, shows, awards, etc.)
I have been a successful and prolific visual artist and writer for over two decades. I have presented my art at over 50 galleries and shops across North America, including the Super Wonder Gallery in Toronto and Barrister’s in New Orleans. Here in Windsor, my art decorates the walls of Biblioasis bookstore in Walkerville.
in 2017, I was awarded an Ontario Arts Council grant to create the show “Attack of the 777km Woman” which featured transgender women from across various South Ontario cities. The show premiered at Unit 2 in Toronto last summer (A Windsor premiere is still in the works, though on hold given the current pandemic.)
My illustrations have been featured widely, from VICE magazine, to the bottle labels of 2 Broads Cider Company, to book covers, among them Windsor writer Casey Plett’s Little Fish.
I am the author of two illustrated novels, I’ve Got A Time Bomb (Topside Press, 2014) and The Girl Who Was Convinced Beyond All Reason That She Could Fly (forthcoming Arsenal Pulp, 2020). My short story “Cybervania” was featured in the collection Meanwhile, Elsewhere: Science Fiction and Fantasy From Transgender Writers which won an ALA Stonewall Book Award and was nominated for a Lambda Literary Award.
